Hanging Platforms

Hanging platforms add a uniquely Sonic twist to the cliché of using platforms to move upwards.
As their names suggests, hanging platforms are suspended in the air, connected with chains to the ceiling. If Sonic can charge the platform with enough speed, he can create the momentum needed to swing the platform forwards.

Hanging Platforms in the modern games

Hanging platforms appeared in the Speed Highway level of Sonic Adventure.

Dash pads were placed infront of the pad. This allowed the player to use the device without having to build up Sonic’s speed.
Hence, the device did not add meaning to Sonic’s speed.

Hanging Platforms have not appeared in other games.
